The Rutles. The Rutles (The Prefab Four) are a band known for their visual and aural pastiches and parodies of The Beatles. This originally fictional band, created by Eric Idle and Neil Innes for s television programming, became an actual group (while remaining a parody of The Beatles) and toured and recorded, releasing two UK chart hits.
  3. Mazumi says:
Archaeology is the second album by parody band The Rutles. Like their previous release, the album contains pastiches of Beatles songs.

Sep 22,  · I've often wondered if this was even possible, and I applaud your ambition in attempting it. Well done! I myself settled for assembling a comprehensive "greatest hits" CD that put my favorite Rutles tracks (from both CDs) in "chronological" order, from Hamburg ("Goose-Step Mama") through the breakup, followed Ron Nasty's appearances on Saturday Night Live and the mids "reunion" songs, .

"Easy Listening" is a song by the Rutles written and sung by Barry Wom (credited to his real name Barrington Womble) from the Rutles' album Shabby Road. The idea for the song came about when Barry went on holiday with Melvin Hall to North Korea.
  9. Shakasho says:
This is nearly as good as The Rutles [the album]. Of course, comparing them is a little odd. The Rutles was a soundtrack for the TV movie All You Need is Cash [A.K.A. The Rutles: All You Need is Cash], which is an affectionate parody of The Beatles, so they were a band that existed only in the studio/5(92).
